  1. My pressure cooker is pressuring up, then stops pressuring. It acts like it going to cook then stops cooking and starts pressuring up again. This has happen several times. What could be the problem?

    1. Hi Don, here is the information I need to know in order to help you. It could be the gasket, it could be the recipe – no way to know until you do a couple of these tests and let us know about the results:

  2. I can’tGive it to turn on when I do plug it in it seems as though there is no power getting to the union what do I do

    1. There doesn’t seem to be any user serviceable components. So…

      Does another appliance work when plugged into the same outlet?
      No -> Repair household power supply.
      Yes…..
      Does another appliance work with the same power cord?
      No -> Replace power cord. (Assuming detachable power cord – not obvious from manual.)
      Yes….
      Do any lights come on at all?
      Yes -> Follow any error message provided. See page 2 of manual. Or perform water test.
      No….
      Is the unit under warranty?
      Yes -> Return for repair/Replacement
      No -> Buy a new pressure cooker.

      1. Check manufacturer website and buy a new fuse it is about 14$ easy to replace.

  3. How do I get replacement parts? We love the cooker but r having issues with it keeping steam in. I think we need a new seal.

  4. Have Three Of These. Wonderful Product!!!! Where Do I Get Condensation cups For These.

    1. EDS, the condensation cup should have come with your pressure cookers – it is likely already installed. It’s the clear rectangular open container that is installed near the top lip of the pressure cooker under the little unlock symbol (a padlock that is open).

      1. My Comment Says Where Do I Get The Condensations Cups? Replacements. Have Had These For About 5 Years, Not Sure What Happen To Them. Use These To Feed Homeless And Have Cleaned The Condensations Cups After Each Use.They Have Been Misplaced Some Where In Never Never Land.On Your Web Site Their Is No # For These.Thank You

          1. I Did Thanks To You They sent Me A Order Form On The Form I Wrote My Model # As EPC- 808.paid The $19.80 For The 3. Waited For About two weeks and got the parts. Only Problem is the sent me wrong parts! Mine should be 2′ across the top of cup, the ones they sent me are 2 5/16′ at the top . seems to me that this is cup for the new 10Qt Model. Called them they said ok will send new ones. Also sent them a email with my problem. Never answered the email.

    1. Angela, if your pressure cooker does not have “yogurt” program – it cannot make yogurt. To make yogurt you need a specially programmed temperature range that has to be put there by the manufacturer.

  6. Hi there!
    My pressure cooker screen seems to be frozen. I have unplugged it, tried pressing cancel, tried pressing other buttons and nothing. It’s still stuck. Even kept it unplugged for several days thinking that would reset it but it didn’t work. Any suggestions?

    1. Laryssa, with other models you can re-set by pressing the “Cancel” button for 5 seconds. It may not work here, but it’s worth a shot. Come back to let us know if it worked!

  7. Elite Bistro 2quart. Displaying E4. What does this mean? Will not let me proceed to cook anything.

    1. Did it work before? It could be that this pressure cooker can only be manually programmed to cook a max of 59 minutes – or whatever pre-set the manufacturer decided for this model.

      1. What? That’s ridiculous! Many recipes call for 8 hour cook time! Are you serious that the cooker can only be programmed for up to 1 hour? Why does it even show hours if it doesn’t cook for hours?

  10. Do you have to have liquid in the cooker…like for a pork roast?

    1. Yes, you should always use the minimum amount of liquid when pressure cooking anything. This model requires 1 1/2 cups – now the liquid could be stock, juice, wine and – of course- water.

  11. The pressure cooker is stuck on warm/cancel. I used it a week ago and the same thing happened. I used it once today for canning and was unable to reset for another process. Unplugging doesn’t clear it. Pressing and holding other buttons doesn’t work either. Suggestions would be great. I haven’t used this pressure cooker very many times.

    1. Cheryl, I don’t really know what could work. But try holding the warm/cancel button down for 5 seconds to see if that will do something (in other models the cooker may beep and re-sets the cooker to factory settings).

    1. Michelle, the gasket (silicone ring on the lid) needs to be replaced every 12-18 months as they become consumed and less-flexible. Contact the manufacturer following the link above to purchase this replacement part.

  15. How do I tell if it is on high pressure? Or does it always cook on high pressure?

  16. My cooker gets an error message saying ‘lid’ when in the middle of pressure cooking. I can let out a bit of pressure and it gets back on track. I may have to do,this several times during the cooking process. It gets very frustrating. It is new as of Christmas 2017, so there shouldn’t be any problems. What can I do aside from returning the cooker?

    1. Shoanna, the lid sensor is misbehaving. Ensure that the lid and the rim of the cooker are well cleaned or contact the manufacturer Maxi-matic to see if the cooker is still under warranty.

  19. Today my Elite 8 qt pressure cooker is presenting a display message “lid”. Can I fix this?

    1. The lid is either not placed properly, or it has been put on a non-lid program (such as brown or saute’).

  20. I can not find any way to set cook time in hours? I was able to adjust minutes per the instruction manual, but there is no mention of hours that I could find. The recipe calls for 4 hours on high heat. Help!

  21. Love my Elite Platinum , have gotten all my kids one (5). Had to replace heating fuse, got it done, but now the advance button won’t work, need more time than pre-set buttons provide, ant thought, thanks.
