Fissler makes two models of this pressure cooker – the one made for America is distinguished by having the letters “US” engraved in the metal near the lip of the lid, to the right of where the handle connects to the lid. The Blue Point is spring valve pressure cooker with two settings: low pressure (one ring displays) and high pressure (two rings display). Maximum operating pressure (second ring) is 14.5 psi or 100kpa. Pressure is released in one direction – turn cooker with handle of the cooker pointing toward the cook before releasing pressure to point the steam away from you.
Although the manual says the lid and base are dishwasher safe we recommend hand washing the lid to preserve the life of the pressure control valve.
Readers have reported that, either out of the box or shortly after use, the cooker releases steam from the pressure valve before the second white ring is completely out of the valve housing. When this happens, the control valve needs to be replaced.
