    Hello,
I am new to electric pressure cooking (Instant Pot) and I see all of these time tables for cooking but I do not see for what volume of ingredient for that cooking time. An example pinto beans, one cup for xx min, 2 cups for xx min or a 2 pound roast for xx min or 4 pound for xx min. Love your site!Thank you.

The reason amount is not stated is that, in large part, it does not matter. Pressure cooking is not like baking where a larger cake will need more time to bake. Instead, every bean in the pressure cooker will need the same amount of time to be cooked.

Timing adjustments will only come into play with extremely large batches in extremely large pressure cookers (10L or more) – even then, the timing is usually reduced to account for the extra time such a large cooker that is so full would need to come to pressure.

    Ciao,

    L
