Has anyone tried doing a large batch of pressure steamed eggs? We go through a lot of eggs here, and cooking a dozen at a time isn’t cutting it. I’ve got an All-American Pressure Canner/Cooker 15 quart capacity and was thinking about doing a big batch – like two or more dozen at a time. Thoughts?

I haven’t tested the egg cooking times in a pressure canner – how long does it take to reach and loose pressure “low pressure” (7.5 psi)?

    Ciao,

Sorry for the delayed response. The site wouldn’t let me log on. Finally changed my password, and am hopeful this response gets to the thread.

Laura, I don’t know how long it takes. I haven’t tried it with eggs. I’ve used it to cook venison shanks (long bones) and to can, but haven’t tried it with eggs. To date I’ve used my 6 qt Presto with only high pressure for eggs. Six minutes at high pressure gives me perfect eggs every time. I’ll run the test myself and post when there is a positive outcome.
